Are Corporate Sustainability Efforts Really Working?

The Gang looks at whether big corporations are truly greening, or just greenwashing.

Nine years ago, Wal-Mart announced its landmark initiative to reduce waste and cut greenhouse gas emissions. But today, its emissions are 14 percent higher.

That makes the initiative a failure, right? Maybe not.

In this week's podcast, the Gang sits down with corporate sustainability expert Andrew Winston to chat about how to judge the success of greening efforts at big companies. We'll discuss his new book, The Big Pivot, and ask what the best companies are doing to procure renewables, get more efficient and prepare for climate risks.

Later in the show, we'll discuss the threat of extreme weather to energy infrastructure, and we'll look at the meaning behind the latest wind construction boom.
