LOS ANGELES, June 26, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Southern California's newest locally-operated, clean energy provider, Clean Power Alliance is excited to announce that starting June 25, 2018, it launched electricity service to over 30,000 businesses in unincorporated areas of Los Angeles County and the Cities of Rolling Hills Estates and South Pasadena.

Business customers in these areas will automatically receive energy purchased by Clean Power Alliance that has higher renewable content and is competitively-priced with Southern California Edison, who will continue to deliver power, send utility bills, and be responsible for resolving any electricity service issues.

Clean Power Alliance was formed through a collaborative effort between Los Angeles County and local governments throughout the region to usher in a new era of customer choice in our communities. Now comprised of 31 member agencies, Clean Power Alliance will expand its service in 2019 to provide clean power to residents and businesses across Los Angeles and Ventura Counties.

During this service expansion, customers have the ability to opt-out of receiving energy purchased by Clean Power Alliance and remain with Southern California Edison for this service. To date over 99.5% of eligible customers in Clean Power Alliance's territory have remained customers to take advantage of the higher renewable energy and competitive rate options. Customers also can choose from one of Clean Power Alliance's three rate options, available at www.cleanpoweralliance.org/rates.

In conjunction with today's expansion of service and in the spirit of continuing to engage our communities in the future of Clean Power Alliance, the organization is pleased to issue an invitation to interested community members from Los Angeles and Ventura Counties to serve on its inaugural volunteer Community Advisory Committee. The Community Advisory Committee will be a 15-member advisory committee representing 7 sub-regions of Clean Power Alliance territory, will advise the Clean Power Alliance Board of Directors, and serve as a conduit for the organization to communicate with its geographically and socioeconomically diverse customer base. To help shape Southern California's energy future, interested residents can apply to be a member the Community Advisory Committee here.
