WASHINGTON, May 10, 2019 /PRNewswire/ -- For more than four decades, members of the Utility Air Regulatory Group (UARG) have sought common-sense solutions to address air quality concerns. UARG has submitted comments at the direction of its membership to ensure the development of legally, economically, and technically sound regulation that protects public health and the environment.  UARG members have worked with both Democratic and Republican administrations, providing a forum to assist regulators and industry participants in navigating complex regulation.

Throughout UARG's history, substantial changes have occurred in the electricity sector, and emissions of key pollutants have decreased by over 90%, while electricity costs have remained affordable for customers.  As this sector continues to transition, membership has declined and the scope of the organization's activities needs to be tailored accordingly.

In light of these circumstances, UARG's membership has decided to disband the organization following a wind down period. A committee has been formed to oversee this wind down, including the completion/fulfillment of UARG's existing obligations and support of members as they continue to cooperate with the Congressional inquiry.  Questions can be directed to the members.
